The Wankhaus, also known as the Alois Huber House, is located at an altitude of 1,780 meters and is open from May to early November. You can stop by daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and indulge in delicious mountain hut dishes. You can also stay overnight at the Wankhaus. More information can be found at https://wankhaus.de/.

Great view of the foothills of the Alps, the lakes and the Alps... not nearly as busy as on the Herzogstand 🤩 Super nice rustic hut.

For me worthwhile in winter via the winter trail. The hut itself is not really comfortable because it is often very busy. Toboggan run down north side. I prefer the ascent from Kappel or, as I said, the winter trail.
