You can stop by daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and indulge in delicious mountain hut dishes. You can also stay overnight at the Wankhaus. More information can be found at https://wankhaus.de/.

Great view of the foothills of the Alps, the lakes and the Alps... not nearly as busy as on the Herzogstand 🤩 Super nice rustic hut.

For me worthwhile in winter via the winter trail. The hut itself is not really comfortable because it is often very busy. Toboggan run down north side. I prefer the ascent from Kappel or, as I said, the winter trail.

Great hut that can also be easily reached by chairlift, offers good food and service and is not boring for children either, as there is plenty to let off steam. 👍

The climb here is worth it because of the great view. In the alpine pasture you can reward yourself for your exertions with a drink and perhaps something high in calories for your stomach. 😏

The hike over the Kolbensattelhütte on the Steckenberg is not recommended. Partly VERY steep ascent, barely visible paths and mud make the ascent difficult. The ascent from Unterammergau is nicer.

Nice starting point for tours of various difficulty.

A great activity playground for young and old. On the plateau directly next to the mountain station and Sonnenalm. The area is fenced in, so it's also a bit relaxing for parents ;)
