The shore path on Lake Ammersee is simply stunningly beautiful. On one side there is the lake, on the other side there is either untouched nature or a huge property with pretty little houses.

From Herrsching from the south, a small split path (about 1.5m wide) leads south. The path also has a few obstacles that can be easily overcome by inexperienced drivers and leads very close to the water to the nearest town of Aidenried. A number of benches and small kiosks allow for a short break with a wonderful view.

A beautiful stretch of road (gravel) starts right behind Aidenried. On one side trees and on the other side, less than 5m away, pebble beaches and the Ammersee. However, the path is very narrow and also for pedestrians. So it can get tight. But it's still worth it. You can always switch to the street - every 1,000m at the latest there is a path leading up.

Interesting for all hikers: The König-Ludwig-Weg divides at the pier in Herrsching. The main route is by ship across the lake to Dießen. If you can't use a ship, you have to bypass the lake on the alternative route via fishing and raising.
