The Lenggrieser Hütte was a good starting point for our upcoming tours, friendly and helpful staff, the food is plentiful and served super quickly, when I think of the portion of Kaiserschmarren, which I can only recommend to everyone.

Away with some scrambles

After the sometimes steep ascent, the view from up here is your reward! Small but fine menu, very nice staff!

The name of the alp apparently goes back to the grouse, which can still be found here alongside grouse, roe deer and deer. In any case, the emblem and the murals in the interior indicate this. Be that as it may, the tour to the Aueralm is a classic at any time of the year. At the top there are wonderful views of the Tegernsee mountains, especially to the neighboring Hirschberg. In winter you can toboggan down the forest path into the Söllbachtal. The hut is open all year round. As an Alpine Club hut, the Lenggrieser Hut is open all year round. The earlier day of rest no longer exists in summer. The offer includes changing, wholesome meals, such as various Bavarian delicacies from regional sources, from roast pork to bacon dumplings to potato soup. The interior is solidly and rustically designed. There is a large terrace on the southern gable side. In addition to the main building, there are several outbuildings. ... many paths lead to the destination (in May/June 2021). This also applies to the "Lenggrieser Hütte" at 1,338 m. The path from Bad Wiesee is a bit long. There and back around 25 km (= a bit more than a half marathon); if you're dynamic, you can complete the route (easy) in around 2 1/4 hours. From Lenggries the path, around 17 km there and back, is challenging. Because it goes uphill very dynamically. The path can be done in 2 hours (easy) (via the "Grasleitensteig"). Either way, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view when you get there. The food and drink are more than delicious, the prices are reasonable and the portions and quality are great. In other words: Spinach dumplings, Swiss sausage salad, Kaiserschmarr’n or apple pie (on May 25th, 2021, June 3rd, 2021, November 19th, 2021, October 15th, 2023 and October 25th, 2024). The hut is a visual jewel inside: the guest room and bar area are very attractive, the toilets are clean, new and beautiful. If you are a bit lazy, you can also go up on a mountain bike; but please find out exactly which way to go. :-) Speaking of which: you can also stay overnight on site (approx. 24 euros). The little "rabbit's foot": unfortunately there are only 7 different sized camps with a total of 48 places. Bring your sleeping bag and slippers. One of my favorite peaks in the Bavarian Prealps, perhaps also because its striking silhouette from Munich and the Munich area is so prominently visible. It is recommended to exceed it, for example an ascent over the west flank from the Tutzinger Hütte and then a descent over the east flank in the direction of Brauneck (or alternatively to Jachenau or back to the Tutzinger Hütte).
