北岸に大きな砂浜があり、東側に小さな湖畔の小道がある自然に近い湖。この湖は地元の釣りクラブが釣りに利用しています。2025年から東岸での遊泳が再び許可されます。

the beach marked here is NOT public but private (club, Paddelclub Illingen). Entering is tolerated at most. If you want to sunbathe or swim here, you run the risk of being sent away.

With an area of around 133 ha, it is the largest quarry pond in Baden-Württemberg[2]. It reaches a depth of up to 33 meters. The quarry pond is now more than two kilometers long and up to one kilometer wide. The Ried Canal flows into the Rhine via the Gold Canal in the north at Rhine kilometer 347.2.
