"The basalt cinder volcano Krufter Ofen is located south of Lake Laach. Its steep eastern flank drops to an oval, kettle-like depression. This depression drains into the Neuwied Basin through the so-called Halsgraben. On the east side of this depression, which is also called a "depression" in geomorphological terms, are the cinder volcanoes Heidekopf and Roter Berg. Beautiful views right at the beginning of the volcano path. Short and steep climb.

You leave the village of Entringen and reach this hill via a narrow, steep path. From here you have a beautiful and very extensive view.

The bike path from Mayen to Andernach impresses with its varied landscape with constantly changing perspectives on striking terrain points.

You have to be careful not to miss the entrance to the path directly opposite the Teufelskanzel ...

The summit of the Krufter stove is the highest point (463m) on the Laacher See. It is a forested peak and therefore the view of the surroundings of Lake Laacher is obscured. For a nice view, the Devil's Pulpit (view of the forest lake), which is located a little lower, is much better suited.
