The Riemer See (also known as the Buga Lake or bathing lake in Riemer Park) is an artificially created bathing lake in the east of Munich as part of the 2005 Federal Garden Show. In the new Munich district of Messestadt Riem, the landscape park planned by the French landscape architect Gilles Vexlard, the Riemer Park, was created . The Riemer See lies in the eastern part of this landscape park. It covers a pure water area of approx. 7.7 hectares and is on average 14 m deep, in a few places up to 18 m. Idyllic hamlet with a small pond and the former branch church of St. Ulrich. The existence of the branch church has been documented since 1100. The year of construction of today's chapel has not been handed down exactly, probably from the first half of the 18th century. The chapel is privately owned but can be visited on Memorial Day.

Great Riemer See, lots of loungers and seating, pure relaxation.

Whether summer or winter, great hiking destination. Hiking around the lake is highly recommended.

The groundwater lake was created between 1937 and 1938 after the end of gravel mining operated by the Reichsbahn on the site. Today the 11.1 hectare quarry pond, which has been completely redesigned as a recreation area, is a popular bathing lake. A very nice place with an idyllic pond, formerly probably a fire pond, and a pretty little chapel.

In the west of the Ostpark, the garden architect Josef Wurzer created the 3.5 hectare lake with many bays, which is fed by a groundwater well. Michaeligarten, a restaurant with beer garden (3,000 seats) is located on the north shore of the lake.

The Heimstettner See is always worth a visit. In the hot days, inviting for a refreshment, be it in the water or at the kiosk 🍻 🏊‍♀️ 😎
