Recreational area in the "green" on the edge of the Steegen landscape conservation area in the middle of the Ore Mountains Basin, right at the foot of the northern edge of the Ore Mountains. Our region is part of the Rotliegend and not only coal but also clay was mined here in the past. The Niederwürschnitz Association bought the town's largest brickworks from Drechsler's heirs after reunification and the "Alte Ziegelei" recreational area was created here as part of many second-market measures. Young and old from near and far meet around the last well-preserved historic ring kiln in our region during the summer months and everyone finds a way to spend their free time meaningfully.
