Hadamar Castle was initially Eberbach Monastery. In 1320 the monastery became the property of Count Emich of Nassau. The count turned the monastery into a moated castle with a farm, tithe barn and city wall.

A beautiful photo motif with a great view of the Lahn, but above all a bridge full of history. The stone round arches date back to the 16th century. During the Thirty Years' War, part of the bridge was blown up and replaced by the metal construction in the 19th century. As far as I know, this combination is unique and makes the bridge a cultural monument.

In the recent past, a hotel was to be made out of the castle, which has been waiting for years. Aside from the fact that it's slowly but surely falling into disrepair, unfortunately nothing is happening.
