The beautiful historic cityscape of Rotenburg around the old Fulda bridge

Johann Baptist Georg Fidelius Lingk or Lingg, since 1827 Lingg von Linggenfeld, was a Baden lieutenant general and commander of the "Lingg" infantry battalion. He became known as "The Man of Hersfeld" as the protector of the town of Hersfeld from its sacking as a punitive measure by the French, in whose service he served. (Source: Wikipedia)

Rotenburg's wonderful waterfront promenade is perfect for a bike ride or a stroll. Ice cream parlors and cafés are also available.

A great family bike path from Bad Hersfeld to the Solz Valley. Along the way, there's also the Solz Valley Adventure Trail for children.
