A frequently used stopover along the Oker and the reservoir.

With no traffic and the fantastic scenery on both sides, this is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful climbs in the Harz Mountains. The asphalt is mostly smooth and more than manageable. The climb is rather uneven. While the first two kilometers in particular are almost flat, the following ones settle at 7-9%. You'll have to negotiate smaller climbs up to 14% (according to Wahoo). The last kilometer to Torfhaus is unfortunately on the main road, but it's a two-lane highway.

Nice place for a short break. Those who continue along the bridge will be rewarded with a truly beautiful off-road stretch. Including a tough climb up to Torfhaus! It's worth it!

It is an absolute MUST to make the detour via the tranquil Schulenberg - no matter which direction you come from. It's worth it.

It's a real challenge! From Lautenthal towards Hahnenklee, the gradient is sometimes over 10%. But it's beautiful, hardly any traffic and the descent is really fun. Be careful, there are 1-2 steep bends 😊
