Not directly visible from the bike path as it is hidden behind trees. It's worth pushing the bike a little around the lake, several places invite you to linger and enjoy nature.

The name "Pelzmühle" probably derives from the former owner George Bilz (Pilz), who acquired the abandoned mill in 1679. It used to be called "Oneritzmühle" (because it was located on the Unritzbach). George Bilz built a grinding and wood cutting mill here. Under changing owners, a bread bakery and a tavern were later added to the flour mill. After 1858 the small tavern became a dance hall with a garden restaurant. After 1889, the new owners Arthur and Malchen Peter developed the Pelzmühle into one of the most famous excursion restaurants in the Chemnitz area. This later included a small zoo. The existing gondola operation on the Pelzmühleteich was supplemented by a small steamboat in the 19th century, which was a sensation in the region at the time. After 1945, the fur mill was occupied by the Soviet occupation forces and bismuth. In 1964 an animal park was established on the site of the Pelzmühle. ...
