The Tauber is an idyllic, small river that rises near Weikersholz and flows into the Main near Wertheim after about 130 km. It accompanies cyclists almost the entire "Liebliches Taubertal" cycle path between Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Wertheim and invites you to take a break at many beautiful places.

A climb up the Gänsturm offers a wonderful view over the Tauber valley. The roof of the Gänsturm, once a Gothic city gate tower, was half destroyed by grenades in the last days of World War II and was only rebuilt in 2003 thanks to civic engagement.

Through this city gate you reach the cycle path along the Tauber.
