The neo-Romanesque crypt chapel of St. Mary of the Counts of Ingelheim dates from 1874/75 and was built under the Imperial Count Friedrich von Ingelheim. In 2006, Count Albrecht, whose birthplace is Mespelbrunn Castle not far from the chapel, was buried in the two-towered basilica.

Johannisburg Palace, formerly Johannisburg Palace, in Aschaffenburg served as the second residence of the archbishops and electors of Mainz until 1803. It was built from red sandstone between 1605 and 1614 by the Strasbourg master builder Georg Ridinger. The complex consists of four large wings, each with three floors.
