Private, best viewed from a distance, closer is not worth it

Beautiful private castle; If you're lucky and the gate is open, you can take a snapshot of the castle.

Unfortunately, it's private. No access. The steep climb was in vain.

Beautiful grounds and a lovely descent into the valley. The paving in the lower area is laid as a water protection so that the water does not flow too quickly into the valley. Care should be taken when walking downhill.

It was expanded under the Counts and Princes of Hohenlohe-Kirchberg. It was built in 1590 as a Renaissance palace, and expanded in 1735 with baroque features. The castle inventory was cleared after the castle was sold to the Inner Mission in 1945 and onwards. It is now housed in Neuenstein Castle. "Tango im Schloss" is part of the non-profit association "Tango Hohenlohe-Franken e.V." for the promotion of Tango Argentino in the Hohenlohe-Franken region, based in Kirchberg. Whether young or old - it is never too early or too late to learn this wonderful dance. Once you've discovered Argentine tango, you won't be able to let it go! Every Friday, there are tango courses in the castle, followed by a milonga (dance event). We also hold tango workshops and concerts at irregular intervals. "Since 2016, Kirchberg Castle has belonged to the Haus der Bauern Foundation. The non-profit and charitable Haus der Bauern Foundation was founded in 2012. It is the social welfare and socio-political foundation of the Schwäbisch Hall Farmers' Producer Association, an association of 1,450 farms in the Hohenlohe region of Baden-Württemberg. The Haus der Bauern Foundation is committed to freedom, self-determination, and social justice for the farming and rural population. It is committed to the principles of sustainable action and sustainable economic development. In addition to its commitment to the local rural population, the foundation is committed to enforcing the fundamental democratic rights of indigenous populations in rural regions worldwide. KIRCHBERG CASTLE - behind its venerable walls, an interdisciplinary center for culture and education is being created: an academy focusing on organic agriculture and food production, the Hohenlohe Farmers' School and university teaching modules, a broad integration program, a youth welfare facility and senior-friendly shared living communities, art and culture, gastronomy, and accommodation. Further information can be found on the Kirchberg Castle website.

Hornberg Castle above the Jagst near Kirchberg was built around 1216 by the Sulz family (based on the hill opposite) as a Hohenstaufen castle. After many changes of ownership, the castle came into the hands of the Lords of Crailsheim in 1504. During the Peasants' War, part of the spur castle was destroyed, but was subsequently rebuilt. The Lords of Crailsheim converted the castle into a palace in the 16th century and created a garden. The property is still owned by the Baron Crailsheim Family Foundation and cannot be visited.
