シュテファヌス教会は残念ながら閉まっていたので、外からしか見ることができませんでした。近くにはホルンブルクの市庁舎があります。

Barnstorf lies at the lowest point between the two contiguous ridges of the Asse (with the Mühlenberg near Uehrde in front of it) and the Heeseberg, whose spur, the Große Berg, is located directly in front of Barnstorf. The Soltau River flows through this low point from north to south. The village is predominantly agricultural. On the northern edge of the village stretches an area that was an extensive pond until the 18th century. The Barnstorf salt pond lay above a salt dome, which for a long time made salt production possible. Today, only the Barnstorf salt meadow remains, home to numerous typical salt-tolerant plants such as glasswort, saltwort, and sea aster. The sea aster has also been the motif of the village's coat of arms since 1991. In addition to the Soltau, which flows northeast past the village, there is a second stream that flows south through the village and empties into the Soltau shortly after the village limits. It has three names: in Uehrde, the main village of the municipality, it's called Westerbach; in Barnstorf, it's called Harbke (also Harbkebach; formerly Low German Harbeeke). The Harbkeweg (Harbke Road) is also named after it. In everyday speech, however, the people of Barnstorf simply call the stream "the Red One." This name dates back to the time when the inhabitants retched flax in the Harbke to produce linen. Between Barnstorf and Warle lies a small, marshy area. Locally, it's known as "the Bottomless One." Before the turn of the 20th century, a well was dug here for the Watenstedt sugar factory. Many legends surround this area. OHAAAAA

Very nice rest area with a bench to relax on. In August the water lilies are in bloom. A new shelter for rainy days is available.
