Not far from the World Heritage city of Bamberg, the picturesque half-timbered town of Zeil a.Main is in a charming location in the Main valley at the foot of the Haßberge mountains. (5,600 inhabitants, 312 m above sea level, first mentioned in 1018) At the junction of wine and beer Franconia, there is a lot to discover and enjoy in terms of cuisine and culture. The historic old town enchants with its artistic half-timbered architecture on the unique market square and in the winding alleys and streets. The remains of the city wall and the mighty city tower made of local sandstone bear witness to a rich and eventful history.
