The Heidelstein transmitter is located on the 926 m high Heidelstein in the Franconian part of the Rhön. It consists of a 218 meter high guyed tubular steel mast built by Deutsche Telekom AG in 1969, which carries antennas for radio relay and for broadcasting TV and VHF radio programs.

A detour on the circular hiking trail around the Wasserkuppe is worthwhile. We were rewarded with a great view.
