St. Nicholas Church is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. Admission is not free and costs 4 euros, but it is money well spent.

This church is located right on the market square in Stralsund. It is the oldest church in the city. I recommend going inside. There is church inventory dating back to the 13th century. For example, a stone baptismal font from 1260 or the oldest astronomical clock in the world from 1394, the mechanics of which are still in their original condition. Admission costs €4 (as of July 2024).

Large market square with great house facades absolutely worth seeing. The church takes 3 euros to enter, I'm a bit torn about that. I've been to the church my whole life and now I have to pay to enter the other way around, so many people aren't in the church and somehow churches like this have to be preserved. But the church itself is absolutely worth seeing.

The beautiful old church is part of the cityscape, as is the town hall right next to it. With its two different towers, it is unmistakable. However, the weather has gnawed at the towers so much that the south tower is now cordoned off to protect passers-by from falling bricks. The renovation is scheduled to begin in 2023, for which the association is collecting money: https://www.verein-st-nikolai-stralsund.de/foerderprojekte/sanierung-des-suedturmes/unser-aktuelles-grossprojekt-turmsanierung Apart from that, the interior of the church is absolutely worth seeing and contains some historically valuable pieces!
