Nestled in the Rabenstein Forest lies the 6.5-hectare Rabenstein Reservoir. Whether you want to exercise in the water or relax on the expansive lawn and 400-meter-long beach, your stay here will be an experience. In addition to swimming, rowing, or pedal boating, there are also table tennis tables and volleyball courts. There's a giant slide and a playground for children, and a nudist beach for those who particularly enjoy the sun. The lake was created between 1972 and 1976 as the core area of the municipal Oberrabenstein Local Recreation Center and opened as a swimming lake with rowing facilities in 1976. The Oberrabenstein Local Recreation Center included a campsite, a nudist pool with a sauna, and a game reserve with horseback riding and driving facilities. After reunification, the local recreation center was dissolved as a municipal operation, and the individual areas were incorporated into other municipal operations or privatized.
