The effort of the climb, whether on foot or by bike, is rewarded by the magnificent view. The ruins of the summit castle lie on the summit of the 524 m high Stoppelsberg in the Kuppenrhön, the remnant of a volcanic vent formed in the Miocene. The keep of Hauneck Castle is founded on hexagonal basalt columns that formed when the lava cooled; they are exposed at the base of the keep. At 480.5 m above sea level, the Stellerskuppe is the highest elevation in the Bad Hersfeld area. From 1935 to 1948 there was a wooden observation tower here. Some of the foundation remains can still be discovered and an information board shows historical photos.

The summit cross on the Eisenberg is a bit difficult to find. If it hadn't been for the "Save the Eisenberg" campaign, you definitely wouldn't be able to reach the summit cross by bike, horseback or on foot. There is a small book at the summit cross that you can sign in.

The Wolfers-Berg with its 448 meters is a bit hidden. On the edge of the forest path between Grebenau and Schlitz. More precisely between the Mordplatte and the Eisenberg intersection. A small Rückergasse or Erdweg leads approx. 150 meters into the existing structure, in a small clearing, quite inconspicuously behind a beech tree stands the summit cross.

The Wolfersberg with its 448 meters of altitude is not far from the Eisenberg and also between Grebenau and Schlitz. His summit cross is slightly hidden next to a deciduous tree. With the MTB you can ride on one way up to the summit. In the middle of the forest, it is a quiet place, not overcrowded, just to feel good.
