Great panoramic view, definitely climb the tower

Already visible from the Siegerland and therefore a good destination and point of orientation.

In my opinion the best camouflaged observation tower in the region. It is still worth climbing up, as the distant view is not yet completely overgrown and an almost full hiking book awaits as a reward. The hiking trail to and from the tower is very nice.

The hiker will find a good view here and a large infrastructure for resting places.

Three things are worth it: beautiful forest, stately tower, beautiful view. The clearer the weather, the more beautiful the view, but be careful, in winter it gets really cold up there with the wind.

Until 2011, the telecommunications tower was by far the tallest structure in the Lahn-Dill district. It was replaced by the Hohenahr wind farm at the turn of the year 2012/2013. When the DVB-T1 transmitter Angelburg was switched off in April 2018, the transmission technology in the upper part became superfluous. This was dismantled on October 21, 2020 by the Swiss specialist company Heliswiss International AG with the help of a Kamow Ka-32 transport helicopter. The dismantling of the two GRP cylinders reduces the height of the structure by approx. 15 meters.

On the summit of the Rimberg stands the 24 m high Rimberg Tower, which was inaugurated on April 30, 1977. It is already the second observation tower on the mountain top, because the first 18 m high wooden tower built around 1900 fell victim to a storm on the night of November 22, 1971. (Wikipedia)
