Nice place for a relaxing break with a historic ambience.

Unfortunately, the canyon does not come into its own as beautifully as here in the photos. Unfortunately, it is not worth setting this as a destination, since there are no seating options either. Of course it's a nice change from the forest, but we expected more from the canyon.

Unique views of the clear waters of the canyon

The origin as a quarry is (unfortunately) clearly recognizable. But at least one of the nicer sights of mining in the region and nature is reclaiming the area bit by bit. The view from the vantage point is beautiful, but it doesn't make you forget how it could be here, if you hadn't first intervened heavily in nature.

What you assume here regarding the route of the Hermannsweg is quite harsh. The normal route takes a detour from the ridge over the terrace - ok, apparently someone with a commercial interest had influence here. Thanks to Corona, this route is now closed. The path then doesn't stay at the top of the ridge, but instead leads past the tavern all the way down into the valley and up again. For me, this is hard to beat in terms of greed for profit and disrespect for the hikers and should actually lead to a boycott of the pub until they learn it.

Because of the more than unspeakable diversion of the Hermannweg, this restaurant is boycotted. The way over the terrace is closed due to Corona - ok. But instead of up along the ridge, hikers are first led down into the valley and then straight back up again - apparently just so that they can get past the tavern. What shoud that????

Due to the high lime content, the water is crystal clear and turquoise in color. This effect is enhanced in the sunshine. A real eye-catcher!

The approximately 500 meter long Lengericher Canyon is also called the Blue Lagoon. It could also be the film set for "The Treasure at Silver Lake" near Winnetou.
