The Hohe Nock (1,963 m) is the highest peak in the Sengsengebirge Mountains and – when traversed from east to west – the last major summit of the tour before descending through the Budergraben valley. It offers magnificent panoramic views of the Kalkalpen National Park, the Totes Gebirge mountains, and the Gesäuse. On clear days, however, the Hohe Nock is a popular destination, and it can get quite crowded – those seeking absolute peace and solitude should ascend in the early morning hours and during the week.

Overnight stay possible (3 camps). Easy-going hut owner who cares about the well-being of his guests and where the food and drink on offer comes from. - Very good food, cooked by two Nepalese. If you take half board you get seconds as often as you want (even 3 times :)) Breakfast is surprisingly varied with homemade hummus. - Cozy dining room inside and seating outside with a great view.

The hut can be reached from the Schafferteich near Vorderstoder (2 hours), from the Rotbuchner car park near Roßleiten (2 hours) or from the Sengstschmied guesthouse (2:30 hours).

Admonterhaus at approx. 1700 m. Easily accessible via the Grabneralm.
