A small mountain pass between the cantons of Obwalden, from Giswil and Lucerne to Sörenberg. The route is narrow on the Obwalden side and in places only single-track, stretching with a very constant gradient of 8 to 12% over meadow slopes and forest up to the highest point. From the Lucerne side, starting at the Brienz Rothorn cable car valley station, it is also only two-track. The highest point is somewhat unspectacular, situated in the sparse mountain forest at the foot of a rock face; the actual pass summit is somewhat lower on the Lucerne side, where there is also a small kiosk.

The panoramic road up to the Glaubenbielen Pass is not without reason! It offers breathtaking views of Lake Sarnen and the surrounding mountains.

The view from the upper station is fantastic. Many hikes start here, and you can even cycle down (one destination). During the summer months, our hotel provides a free pass.

From the canton of Lucerne towards Obwalden, a beautiful long pass road (400 metres altitude over 6km)

A beautiful uphill ride to the pass is rewarded with a wonderful change of view at the top. The road is narrow in places and there are also less experienced drivers and motorcycles, so make sure you turn on your bike's lights, stay to the right, and avoid Saturdays and Sundays (if possible).
