5月 10, 2025, Schloss Rappoltenkirchen
Addendum: In 1884, Prince Ypsilanti (a descendant of a Greek freedom fighter) inherited the palace. Ypsilanti was married to the daughter of the banker Baron von Sina (see Sina-Warte on the Lindkogl and Sinagasse in Vienna's 22nd district). The Ypsilanti family remained the owners until the end of the 20th century.

Nice place to jump into the water, well paved, but very narrow in places. Drive carefully!

If you go behind the church you will find the castle. It's really well hidden and very easy to drive past.

5月 10, 2023, Schloss Neuaigen
Where Neuaigen Castle is today, there was already a fortified complex that was probably built by Laurenz Freiherr von Hofkirchen. Hofkirchen was enfeoffed in 1494 by the Roman-German King Maximilian I. After the destruction in the Thirty Years' War, Georg Andre Freiherr von Hofkirchen (1562-1623) erected a new building.

Privately owned and can therefore only be viewed from the outside. A good view of the main building is behind the church. Story: Rappoltenkirchen was first mentioned in a document in 1210. It was probably given to the Freie von Lengenbach in 1186 by the last Styrian duke, Otakar IV. These passed it on to vassals. In 1355 it was owned by the Dobra taverns. In 1358, Duke Rudolf IV renewed the office of chief huntsman in Austria and combined it with the fiefdom of Rappoltenkirchen. The first owner was Ritter Friedrich von Kreisbach. From 1428 to 1468 the knights of Sepecken were feudal owners. After that, the lords of the castle changed relatively frequently. In 1590 the castle was largely destroyed by a severe earthquake. In the time that followed, the previous building of today's palace was probably built. From 1623 the rule belonged to the barons of Questenberg. In 1710 Rappoltenkirchen came into the possession of Johann Ferdinand Imperial Count von Kuefstein. In 1814 it came to Georg Simon Freiherr von Sina via Prince Franz Josef von Dietrichstein. His son Georg had the current castle built from 1870 to 1874. In 1891, Rappoltenkirchen became the joint property of Hereditary Princess Chariclee zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst, Iphigenie Imperial Countess zu Pappenheim, Princes Emanuel and Theodor Ypsilanti, Princess Irene Maurocordato and Anastasia Countess Wimpffen. The Princes Ypsilanti owned the castle until 1990. During the Second World War it was expropriated and used by the Gestapo as an archive. Since it had been devastated in 1945, the external damage was provisionally repaired in the post-war period, but the interior continued to suffer, as a lack of care caused entire ceilings to collapse, rooms burned out and everything usable was stolen or sold. Shortly before it was sold to Mrs. Eva Buschmann, it was placed under monument protection. She owned the castle until 1996. Since then it has been owned by Mr. KR Erich Fach. He left the lock

Rappoltenkirchen Castle was first mentioned in a document in 1210. However, it must have been given to the Freie von Lengenbach in 1186 by the last Styrian Duke Ottokar IV († May 8, 1192). The original Renaissance chateau was redesigned in a neoclassical style by the architect Theophil Hansen. Is not accessible as it is privately owned, the owner is Mr. KR Erich Fach. He had the castle renovated.

4月 26, 2022, Schloss Neuaigen
Neuaigen Castle is a castle on the through road on the western outskirts of the village of Neuaigen in the municipality of Tulln an der Donau in Lower Austria. The late-Renaissance chateau is under monument protection. The previous building was built by Laurenz Freiherr von Hofkirchen at the end of the 15th century. The new building was probably carried out in the early 17th century by Georg Andre von Hofkirchen. The goods and rule was confiscated in 1620 by Emperor Ferdinand II. From Johann Joachim Ehrenreuter as the owner, the castle went to Johann Peter Freiherr von Verdenberg in 1635, to Count Johann Ferdinand von Enkevoerth in 1685, and in 1746 through marriage to Counts Breuner-Enkevoerth. The long avenue in the axis of the main facade was laid out by Count von Zabor , the castle went to Prince Hans von Ratibor in 1894. From 1945 to 1955 the castle was occupied by Russian soldiers. In 1955 the castle went to Franz Albrecht Duke of Metternich-Sandor. 1970 was a restoration.

4月 5, 2021, Ried Castle Ruins
The Ried castle ruins are the ruins of a spur castle on the local mountain of Ried am Riederberg in the Vienna Woods, which, according to the current state of research, was probably built around 1200. Today only sparse remains of a Romanesque round tower ruin, a kennel wall and the outer bailey are preserved. Definitely take the way back to the ruins, I tried behind the castle, but there is no more path and it goes down extremely steeply. If you are not careful here, a Köpfler is inevitable ...
