Six railway crossings in the municipality of Weißenstein have been missed in the last three years. To complete the transport project, there was still one piece of the mosaic missing: the cycle bridge over the Drau between the town of Töplitsch and the Puch stop. Now the 104.5 meter long and 2.5 meter high steel structure was stretched over the Drau. The steel cables that support the bridge are supported by a 41 meter high pylon. The new cycle bridge is 104 meters long© KK “The new bridge underlines the efforts to ensure even more mobility and safety,” says regional manager Siegfried Moser from ÖBB-Infrastructure AG. “Not only is Töplitsch connected to the barrier-free stop in Puch via the shortest route, but cyclists can easily change the banks of the Drau on the popular Drau cycle path and continue their journey by train. The stop in Puch also has an important transfer function between train and bike.”
