In the Zistersdorf pine forest there is a brick spring with a relief of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Below it you can read his motto "Viribus Unitis" (= With united forces). To the left and right of the relief are the years of his 60-year reign, 1848 and 1908. On the profiled cover plate there is a sandstone vase on the left and right of the main part. Above the base part there is a cornice made of unplastered and slanted bricks. On the lower side part there are two sandstone balls. [marterl.at]

A typical Weinviertel church is slightly elevated, so you also have a view if you hike around a bit at the top.

The defense tower of Palterndorf is one of the highlights of the village. Unfortunately, he is in the middle of a property. It was not possible to tell whether it was freely accessible.

Almost nothing reliable is known about the life of Saint George, to whom this church is dedicated, but veneration of his person dates back as far as early Christianity. A martyr identified with George is said to have lived in the third century. On the other hand, the legend of Saint George slaying the dragon is well known and widespread. He is usually depicted – in paintings or as a statue – as the conqueror of the monster, often as a knight on horseback. The memorial day of the very popular George - he is, among other things, the patron saint of the English kingdom - in the calendar of saints is on April 23rd.

The castle, a two-storey square building with a defensive moat, was mentioned in writing as early as 1296 when it was mentioned in a document in connection with Otto von Ydungspiugen. It is reported that the keystone of the formerly Gothic stone gate bore the year 1192. The building is the result of several modifications and extensions. The castle got its current appearance when, after being destroyed in the 15th century, it was rebuilt by the Kollonitsch family on the remains of the old building just before 1600.

The core of the former fortified church with a four-bay nave dates back to the Middle Ages. The tower was built in the 13th century and the remaining parts of the building in the first half of the 14th century. The church was baroque in 1669/1670.
