The restaurant is only open on weekends, the owners are very friendly and the snack is highly recommended - and is enough for two hungry hikers ;-)

The Schöckl is an ideal hiking destination if you live in the south and don't want to drive that far to experience a panorama. However, there is too much tourism there for my taste.

Chilled hut in the forest with good food and a penchant for techno/rave and other music that you wouldn't necessarily expect on the mountain :)

The Johann-Waller-Hütte is a rustic hut below the Schöckl summit. The culinary offering is first class. There is classic home cooking, pastries and sometimes something unusual. Cold drinks are also available in the self-service corner outside opening hours. https://johannwallerhuette.at/
