The start of the via ferrata can be reached from Holzgau in about half an hour. It is divided into three routes of varying difficulty levels, which can be easily combined with one another: the chamois (B/C), the ibex (C+) and the eagle route (D/E). A highlight is certainly the crossing of the roaring Simms waterfall using a total of three rope bridges. A via ferrata experience that is absolutely recommended!👌

A very beautiful, varied, but also strenuous hiking trail. Even in August there was still a thick layer of ice on the edge of the trail. The many small streams of the stream provide a pleasant cooling effect on hot days. There are also wire ropes to hold on to. We started in Spielmannsau and stayed one night at the Kemptener Hütte. We continued on to the Heilbronner Höhenweg.

When it is dry, all paths are beautiful.

What this highlight means is the Simms Waterfall. It can be reached through the right side of the valley via a good gravel path towards Rossgumpenalm/Café Uta, so you can observe the waterfall from close up. It was created artificially in the 19th century by the Englishman Frederic Simms through blasting. The waterfall is about 30 m high and is fed by the Höhenbach. There are many hikers on the route, most of whom want to go to the Holzgau suspension bridge.

When we were there it had rained heavily beforehand, there was an unbelievable amount of water that roared into the valley, is really an experience that you simply have to take with you in this area. We were there at the end of July and didn't expect so much water

After a decent rainy night, we were lucky enough to see the roaring water at the Doserfall, simply an unforgettable highlight

The small detour is worthwhile for everyone who has a thing for rushing water.
