The view is worth the climb. Not really suitable for people seeking solitude in the Jura mountains.

As the name suggests, the Col de la Vue des Alpes offers, in good weather, a beautiful view over Lake Neuchâtel and the Alps. From Neuchâtel, you climb the first short climb and arrive in the pretty village of Valangin. Across a wide, relatively flat plateau, you cross over to the ridge of Mont Racine / Tête de Ran. A long road through the forest then leads you to the 1,283-meter-high col.

The transition is no longer as smooth as it used to be.

Great view of Lake Neuchâtel and the Alps

Col des Neigeux is a scenic pass in the Swiss Jura, which offers panoramic views of the Alps and the valleys below. It is part of a moderate 11.8 mile loop that begins and ends at Hauts Geneveys station. The trail is ideal for bird watching, hiking, and mountain biking, and you can appreciate the cultural landscape of the area along the way. The best time to visit is from May to October, when the wildflowers are in bloom and the weather is pleasant.

Pass located at 980m altitude. From Saint-Hippolyte, the ascent is considered 2nd category, with 18.2 kilometers with an average of 3.2% (and 9.3% over the steepest 100 meters). From Goumois and the bed of the Doubs, the ascent (category 3) is shorter (9.8 kilometers) and steeper with an average slope of 4.8% (10.4% over the steepest 100 meters). you will find an orientation table at the pass which will give you directions to the Chasseral range which rises to 1600 meters on the Swiss side of the border.
