A hike around the donkey is recommended, but very time-consuming. Plan enough breaks. There are free-roaming cows on the mountain slopes that like to block the way. Cow dunk is a way of decorating here and there!

Stunning views of the Brienzersee and the Jungfrau Region’s highest peaks; the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Schreckhorn and Finsteraarhorn. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking no matter the direction you look in.

You can get here by train. The "Schynige Platte" hiking adventure starts from here. If you like, you can enjoy the Botanical Alpine Garden on the right, or turn left to the Schynige Platte panoramic restaurant. All hiking trails lead across the plateau from here.

You can easily get to the Schwinge Platte by train. There you can see the alpine garden and lots of flowers. If you feel like it, you can still do the panorama trail.

Particularly nice in winter - take a sledge with you, take the train up to First, then hike a bit strenuous but mostly on gurten paths to the Faulhorn and the 1000 m down to Grindelwald by sledge.

The summit is quite crowded, but it's no wonder with these views, for me the secondary summit was more suitable for a rest, all alone and in peace 🙂.

From Zweilütschinen / Grindelwald the entire route is drivable - approx. 2/3 of the route on asphalt, the rest on gravel. On the Schynigen Platte, the possibilities to continue driving are limited. The (hiking) trails are narrow or very steep. So just a ride up and more or less the same way back down. In all other attempts you don't make friends because there are usually many hikers.
