At the bottom of the lake there are karst springs, which ensure the crystal-clear water and ensure that the lake never freezes over in winter.

Is it worth the short ascent to the summit cross?

From the small bridge on the lake circular path there is a great view of the crystal-clear Christlessee.

From the Fellhorn, you have a fantastic 360-degree view. Actually, even better than from the Kanzelwand. Along the ridge path between the Kanzelwand and the Fellhorn, you can discover some truly stunning alpine flowers.

Short hike from Oberstdorf over the Moorweiher in the direction of Spielmannsau to the Christlesee. The water is so clear and clean that the landscape is reflected in it. Right next door is the rustic Christlesee Restaurant and Café, which is worth a stop.

For those who are not so fit in hiking, you can drive to the middle station and then walk up for about 1 hour. It's only a quarter of an hour from the summit station. We still had a lot of snow at the beginning of June.

The 2,038-meter-high Fellhorn lies on the German-Austrian border and separates the Kleinwalsertal valley from the Stillachtal valley in Oberstdorf. This region is ideal for active cross-border hikers between Germany and Austria. Easy, varied tours, especially the two-country circular hiking trail, make this mountain flower paradise so popular, especially with families. The Fellhorn is considered the flower mountain of the Allgäu Alps, with over 120 flowers and plants, and is famous for its large fields of alpine roses. Free geological and botanical tours of the flower trail and a cheese dairy visit on the Schlappoldalpe mountain pasture are offered weekly. The slopes of the Fellhorn are a popular ski area in winter. Since 1972, a cable car, the Fellhornbahn, has led from the Stillachtal valley to the mountain. The mountain station is at an altitude of 1,967 meters. The new circulating gondola lift (Fellhornbahn II) opened in winter 2006/2007. https://www.oberstdorf.de/alpininfo/allgaeuer-alpen/berg-tal/berge/fellhorn.html

The 2,038-meter-high Fellhorn is the most easily accessible of the large Allgäu grass mountains and is known for its floral diversity. The Fellhorn cable car travels down to 70 meters below its summit. On the well-trodden paths near the cable car, there are information boards about alpine flowers, and indeed, the mountain is overflowing with them. The mountain attracts visitors, especially during the alpine rose blooms. Picking flowers is, of course, prohibited. The best way to reach the Fellhorn is from the Stillachtal valley behind Oberstdorf. The Fellhorn cable car parking lot is the last point accessible by car without a special permit. Buses also run from Oberstdorf. From there, you can climb on foot in about three hours, or take the cable car to the middle or summit station. There are some very beautiful hiking trails on the Fellhorn that are not particularly difficult. The trail from the middle station over the Alpe Schlappold and the ridge via Schlappoldeck and Schlappoldkopf to the Fellhorn summit is particularly beautiful. You'll need to climb 400-500 meters, and the ridge is quite wide. Of course, you can also go in the opposite direction from the summit station and walk mostly downhill, which is what most people do. The walk takes about two hours. The tour can be combined with the Alpe Obere Bierenwang from the middle or summit station to create a beautiful loop. https://allgaeu-erleben.com/0433-fellhorn.php

10月 11, 2020, Holzgau Suspension Bridge
The suspension bridge near Holzgau im Lechtal, also known as the Holzgau suspension bridge, is a 200.5 meter long, 1.20 meter wide and 110 meter high rope suspension bridge in Austria. At times it was the longest and highest rope suspension bridge in Austria. It spans the Höhenbachtal Gorge north of the village. [1] At the two edges of the gorge there are 5.20 m high pylons made of steel girders, over which the two 50 mm thick suspension ropes are guided, which are anchored in the ground behind the pylons with nine rock anchors each. The vertical hangers are attached to the carrying ropes and carry the running surface covered with a grating. A 1.30 m high handrail is mounted on both sides of the walking surface, which is connected to the grating by a wire mesh. The bridge is guyed by ropes leading down to the slopes of the gorge to prevent excessive vibrations. At night the bridge is illuminated with LEDs. The bridge is designed for a load of 630 people. The plans were drawn up by the architecture firm Walch from Reutte. The 125 km long European long-distance hiking trail, Lechweg, runs over the bridge on the Gföll- zum Schiggenberg. On March 1, 2012, it was released for use. The official opening took place together with Lechweg on June 15, 2012. The construction costs amounted to approx. € 560,000 for the bridge and € 90,000 for the feeder roads. 2/3 of the costs were borne by the EU and the state of Tyrol. The suspension bridge, which always sways slightly, can also be bypassed. Those who do not have a head for heights can hike down into the Höhenbachtal, past the artificial Simmswasserfall to Café Uta. From there a hiking trail leads up to the Schigge.

The Christlessee can be reached on a beautiful hike through the Trettach valley. The colors of the water are gorgeous ... turquoise and crystal clear ... you can easily reach Oberstdorf again on a circular hiking trail
