The former Heinz factory is a historic complex located in the Troy Hill neighborhood along the Allegheny River. Founded by Henry J. Heinz in 1890, the factory was linked to railroads for nationwide product distribution. Heinz grew produce on company fields and sourced additional crops from local farmers while using greenhouses to develop experimental seeds. Built in stages from 1907 to 1958, the complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been converted into rental apartments offering stunning views of the city skyline.

This is one of the best spots on the North Shore Trail to take in the downtown views of Pittsburgh.

North Shore Trail runs from Millvale Riverfront Park alongside the Allgeheny and Ohio Rivers to West End Bridge, where it turns into Chateau Trail. The trail leads you through beautiful green spaces like North Shore Riverfront Park and past several iconic bridges of Pittsburgh.

Highland Park in eastern Pittsburgh features a large reservoir, walking trails, and a Victorian-style garden. It offers a family friendly atmosphere and serves as a great spot for a break off the bike.

Located close to the community of Millvale, Girty's Woods is just outside of Pittsburgh and offers a great escape from the city. The 165-acres area offers nice trails and great views of downtown Pittsburgh.

This is nice small 1.4 acre lake with multiple piers where people can primarily enjoy fishing off the piers. It is a beautiful spot and there are several other small lakes and reservoirs in the area.
