Bruck Castle has towered over Lienz for around 750 years. It is very well preserved and worth a visit. Inside is the museum of the Lienz painter Albin Egger-Lienz.

Heinfels Castle is an extensive hilltop castle complex above Heinfels in East Tyrol. The strategically well located weir system at 1130 m above sea level. A. is a distinctive landmark of the eastern Puster Valley. From the castle you have a wide view up and down the river as well as the Tyrolean Gail Valley, which opens out opposite. The legendary foundation by the Huns dates back to the 5th century. The castle was therefore called "Huonenfels", "Huonifels", "Huenfels" or "Heunfels" up until the 16th century. However, today's historical research assumes that Heinfels was founded by the Avars. It is also considered likely that the castle has belonged to the Bavarian dukes since the 7th century.
