The Sillianer Hütte marks both the start and end point of the Carnic High Route 403, also known as the Peace Trail or Via della Pace. It also serves as an important base for several long-distance hiking trails, including the Austrian Southern Alpine Long-Distance Trail No. 03 (Sillian–Karawanken–Radkersburg), the European Long-Distance Trail E10, and the Via Alpina. In addition to its function as a base for long-distance hikers, the hut is a popular destination for day-trippers—both vacationers and locals from the entire Hochpustertal Valley. The offer is typically regional with very tasty Kaiserschmarrn at fair prices. Wonderful and modern hut at the foot of the Großglockner. Starting point for the normal route to the roof of Austria. The food is excellent and the hut staff are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is unique, as there are a lot of mountain guides hanging around here, who spread great dynamics and a good atmosphere. It is best to reserve well in advance, the hut is almost always fully booked.

The lovingly self-made information signs down in the valley already suggest it: the hut stands out from the crowd. The location is of course wonderful in this wild glacier valley, but the innkeepers are special: super friendly, the cake was outstandingly delicious, the cappuccino as good as in a cafe. Everything was made with a lot of passion and love - I will have fond memories.

Very nice hut. Great food. If you want, you can go from here (according to Rother hiking guide) for about 1 hour to the mega glacier view 😉
