A very beautiful gorge and well worth a visit 🫵😉

Interesting natural spectacle, combined with cooling on hot days.

The Gumpen Cascades are a series of natural waterfalls and pools (called "Gumpen") that meander like steps through a narrow, rocky valley. The crystal-clear water cascades over smooth rocks, collecting in turquoise-green pools, and creating a wildly romantic natural spectacle. The splashing and rushing sound is particularly refreshing on hot days – you can briefly dip your hands or feet into the ice-cold water, or, if you're feeling brave, even lie down in one of the pools to cool off on hot days.

Near Steinbach, on the right bank of the Steyr, there is a beautiful garden which, in the evening, is uniquely enchanting due to its lovely lighting.

Fantastic waterfalls and pools are accessible via very elaborate wooden steps and bridges. In wet conditions, I would recommend only going uphill. There are two other options for the return journey: the paved path or the forest/hiking trail to the paid parking lot. Payment is possible not only with the app but also with coins. The entrance fee is entirely justified for the very complex repair of the many wooden steps and bridges.

A unique "floral splendor" every year. Normally a very deep, muddy trail, but this year, thanks to the dry weather, it's not muddy and pleasant to hike. At 19°C and sunny, it's simply worth seeing.
