A great hut at 1834m that offers a very tasty Kaspresskndöel soup. It is even more fantastic to enjoy the food/drink on the terrace. The view of the Achensee and the mountains is breathtaking. You can also stay overnight at the hut. It offers mattress dormitories, shared rooms and twin rooms. The twin rooms are booked up very quickly, especially during the holidays. The hut is a perfect starting point for a variety of hikes and climbs in the Rofan Mountains. It is one of the few huts that is open in both winter and summer. The Erfurter Hütte is ingeniously located right next to the mountain station of the Rofan cable car and as a base offers the opportunity to explore the Rofan mountains without time pressure. From the terrace you have a great view down to Lake Achensee. It is open both in summer and in winter. The hut offers space for about 76 people divided into 24 room camps/beds and in comfortable, newly built mattress camps for 50 people. Good hiking trails lead from the valley station of the mountain railway or from the Enterrottach-Valepp toll road (starting point there at the Monialm) to the summit area. Of course, there is also easy access by mountain railway, which means that the Wallberg is often well populated. Nevertheless, on the way to the summit, the wheat from the chaff separates somewhat, because some short passages below the summit plateau are not entirely without - here you have to get rid of sticks and tackle. The areas on both sides of the panorama restaurant serve as runways for paragliders, whose drivers are often watched. You can also spend the night in the Alten Wallberghaus below the summit.
