The waterfall in Bad Hofgastein is not the same as the one in Bad Gastein. The latter is located in the town center, while the one in Bad Hofgastein can be reached via a hiking trail just outside the town in a northeasterly direction. The path there is a bit steep, but well developed, and it is definitely worth the climb.

an underrated natural jewel - Hofgastein also has its waterfall - not as impressive as in Bad Gastein - but beautiful to walk through...

Quick and easy to reach from the town. Pleasantly cool and shady. Can easily be extended to the Annencafe or up to the Gamskarkogel.

It's crazy how much water is pouring into the valley right in the middle of town.

Bad Gastein is actually a bit out of date and some of the buildings are empty. Big old hotels in an alpine area and yet somehow fascinating.
