A truly beautiful view of the valley and the surrounding hills. Breuberg Castle sits imposingly atop the hill, but its true scale only becomes apparent when you're there – so head up! It's well worth it...

Brilliant quarry trail, with fantastic steep descents. But be careful: steep descent only suitable for advanced skiers!

Himmelthal Monastery is a former Cistercian abbey in the market town of Elsenfeld, district of Rück, in Bavaria in the diocese of Würzburg. The monastery was founded in 1232 by Count Ludwig II of Rieneck and his wife Adelheid of Henneberg. The oldest monastery church, built in the late Romanesque style, was built soon after the foundation. In 1568, the Archdiocese of Mainz abolished the abandoned monastery and made it the archbishopric's chamberlain's court. The last abbess was Anna Geipel von Schöllkrippen, who died in Erlenbach am Main on May 25, 1601 and was buried in the church there. Her parents were the Spessart forester on horseback and member of the forester's court in Hösbach, Ludwig Geipel von Schöllkrippen and Anna von Wasen. The alliance coat of arms of the Geipel von Schöllkrippen and von Wasen families was walled into the south wall of the passage to the monastery's farm buildings. The inscription: "When, in the year 1583 after the birth of Christ, Anna, née Geippelin von Schelkrippen, was abbot, grant her God a blessed reign, and take her finally into your hands." The monastery courtyard was initially given to the Jesuits in 1595 and then donated in 1626. The existing baroque pilgrimage church was built on the foundations of the late Romanesque predecessor church in 1753 and dedicated to Saint Sebastian. The builder was Rudolf Vill from Klingenberg. Elsewhere, Johann Martin Schmidt is named as the builder. The church's original furnishings are remarkable, with the organ built in 1757 by Johann Conrad Wehr from Marktheidenfeld. After the Jesuit order was abolished in 1773, the estate reverted to the Archbishopric of Mainz and was assigned to the Aschaffenburg College. The property has been owned by the Aschaffenburg Foundation Office's Gymnasium Fund since 1814. The village of Eichelsbach, which belonged to the monastery until 1773, was also assigned to the Archbishopric of Mainz. The Aschaffenburg Foundation Office's Gymnasium Fund has been running the non-profit Himmelthal GmbH vocational training center since 1974. The focus is on working with young people who receive holistic care as part of a boarding school. The aim of the measures promoted by the employment office is integration into working life. The Gymnasium Fund also runs the Elsava School for Educational Assistance in Himmelthal. The private institution supports children and young people with a high educational need in the Bavarian Lower Main region who, due to their behavioral problems, avoid compulsory schooling. The institution consists of a school for educational assistance with an integrated special education day care center. The school for educational support supports local secondary schools at the request of the responsible school management by checking students for increased educational needs. Source: Wikipedia
