This so-called "Staanern Cross" belonged to Willibald Jost, a Linkemalingersch. A few years ago, the upper part was knocked down/demolished during a timber transport. For a while, the cross was threatened with removal due to cost reasons. The Ellar Cultural and Historical Society made a significant financial contribution. The "Staarner Cross" was also popular with children and young people because, in earlier times, group sled runs with toboggans or bobsleds would start in this area, with each vehicle aiming to achieve the record distance to Pension Eduard Jost in the valley.
