Between the towns of Wehlen and Uttewalde lies the wild, romantic Uttewalder Grund, which is pleasantly cool even in summer. The Uttewalder Grund is a side valley of the Wehlener Grund, which in turn opens up into the Elbe breakthrough valley.

For me, the Uttewalder Grund is one of the insider tips in Saxon Switzerland! You always have the feeling of diving into another world. Impressive rock formations, small caves and the rock gate, there is a lot to discover. In contrast to "the" sights in Saxon Switzerland, it is not yet overcrowded here, we hardly met anyone.

Going up or down the Falken Gorge is an adventure, a headlamp and a small backpack are recommended. Have lots of fun with it.

With its strong rock formations and the well-known Felsentor, the Uttewalder Grund is a romantic and mystical attraction for day trippers. Only at midday in midsummer does the sun break through and conjure up an idyllic play of colors between the trees and rocks. If the winter was particularly cold, you can still discover icicles here in May.

This easy-to-walk path through impressive rock formations is an absolute experience. An absolute must.

Nice climb! We even did it with our dogs. Dog over the neck or in one arm and up 👍 It was worth it.

The cave should not be forgotten on the ascent

Great climb! It's really fun. Not suitable for small children and dogs over 7 kg. Especially downhill there are very narrow passages, so you can hardly turn with a backpack. The jagged grid floors and steep ladders are not for 4-legged friends. Especially at times when there are many tourists, I imagine it to be very annoying.
