There is good parking at the Waldsee car park. A ten-minute walk takes you to the lake where you will be greeted by the many ducks.

A wooden boardwalk has been built through the entire moor to put as little strain on the moor as possible. There are a few benches on the path where you can take a rest.

Mountain lake is something different for me😉. Rather sad and desolate place.

It's just great that you can walk over the wooden planks in the moor, there's a lot to discover 😊

The mountain lake near Triberg in the Black Forest dates back to the Ice Ages. It is one of the few natural lakes in the Middle Black Forest. According to an information board on the lakeshore, the Triberg mountain lake is considered a glacial niche from the Riss Ice Age because of its circular shape, the steep circus-like slopes and its opening to the northeast. The heights around Triberg had their own glaciation during the Riss Ice Age. The snow line was 700 m above sea level. Idyllic lake with lots of benches and the food in the restaurant was also very good. Has hot food all day.

Lake Balaton is currently still empty and the dam walls don't look renovated yet.

The water was drained from Lake Balaton in summer 2020 to determine the need for rehabilitation.
