One of the watchtowers in this area. Unfortunately only the foundations remain. Nevertheless, the information board there provides very good information. Very interesting.

The Hohwald watchtower is an interesting stop on your hike. 🏰 Here you can explore the remains of a Roman watchtower and learn more about the history of this region. The view of the surrounding nature from here is also impressive - perfect for a short rest.

Highest point of the Odenwaldkreis, too bad the sign is easy to miss, I might have missed it without the highlight marking, it is about 2-3m from the path

The highest elevation in the Odenwald is the Katzenbuckel near Waldkatzenbach in the Neckar-Odenwald district at around 626m. The second highest mountain is the Neunkircher Höhe in the Bergstraße district at 605m. The citizens of the Odenwald district mostly believe that the highest mountain in the district is the Krähberg at 555m or the Sensbacher Höhe at 558m. The Kohlwald near Bullau is completely unknown. The foundation walls were also rebuilt at the Hohwald guard post - the highest in the Odenwald Limes - so that everyone can understand them.
