Canton of St. Gallen in the political municipality of Thal. This consists of the towns of Thal, Althein, and Staad. The roundabout is located directly behind Altenrhein Airport, near Lake Constance. The aircraft is a DeHavilland DH-100 Mk 6 Vampire. The aircraft was in military service from 1951 to 1991. Its last flight was on March 5, 1991, when it flew over the Altrhein area from Emmen. It was supposedly kept in the local aviation museum. In 2008, the museum donated the "Maya the Bee" to the municipality to decorate the roundabout.
