The church is striking because it is actually "two churches." The first church was built in the mid-19th century and, after just over 70 years, was expanded in 1923 with a further long building with an octagonal tower. This is how the church today appears as a church made up of two churches. The interior was renovated two years ago.

St. Johannis Church was the first new Protestant church to be built in the predominantly Catholic town of Forchheim. Its construction had become urgently necessary because the then young Protestant community - it had only been founded in the second quarter of the 19th century - experienced strong growth as a result of Forchheim's industrialization.

The St. Johannis Church in Forchheim is a historic building whose history is reflected in its architecture, construction and color scheme. In addition to church services, tours and events take place here.

Old mill on the Regnitz, in which various performances (theatre, etc.) were held. Also a building with contemporary history, although not that old

St. John's Church was the first new Protestant church in the predominantly Catholic town of Forchheim. Its construction had become urgently necessary because the then young Protestant community - it had only been founded in the second quarter of the 19th century - experienced strong growth as a result of Forchheim's industrialization. In 1861 the community had around 150 souls, but barely thirty years later their number had increased tenfold. The 120 seats in the Gereon Chapel, the previous place of worship of the Forchheim Protestants, were no longer sufficient. - In the middle of the 19th century, the Forchheim city council gave this small church from the 16th century to the Protestant community free of charge until they could build their own church. After renovation and fitting out as a Protestant church, it was consecrated in 1852 by the Bamberg dean Bauer.
