The camp is in a great location for starting some beautiful hikes. The site is very well maintained, and the staff are super friendly.

What is there to say? Lake Bohinj is one of top three or four tourist attractions in Slovenia, so, of course, you should go. But you can truly enjoy and see all its beauties only if you stay long enough.

The trail via Mala Osojnica to Velika Osojnica is a good choice for a longer hike. It's about a 45-minute walk along a steep forest path to Mala Osojnica, at an elevation of 685 meters, and then another 20 minutes to Velika Osojnica at 756 meters. Awesome views of Lake Bled and its surroundings, the Karawanks, the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, and the Ljubljana Basin await you. You may recognize this view as the subject of one of Bled's most famous panoramic photographs.

The idyllic Bohinj Valley is located in the southeast of Triglav National Park, about 85 kilometers from Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Bohinj is a valley basin consisting of the Upper and Lower Valleys and Lake Bohinj in the heart of the green Slovenian destination.

Lake Bohinj lies in a deep basin, bordered to the north by the Julian Alps, to the west and east by the small mountains Rudnica and Savica, and to the south by the 1,922 m high Vogel mountain. The lake is a true natural idyll. Only the settlements of Ukanc at the western end and the small resort of Ribcev Laz bear witness to civilization; otherwise, pure nature reigns supreme.
