To cross the lake if you don't want to do the whole circuit, a highlight for young and old

A great tour around the lake with beautiful scenery, virtually no traffic, plenty of places to stop for refreshments, and a ferry ride – definitely an experience. Some gravel roads, very fine white gravel, and lots of asphalt.

Unfortunately, the Zicksee is unsuitable for swimming

The Zicksee is a small steppe lake in the Seewinkel. The muddy bottom of the lake contains a lot of sulphur, Glauber's salt and soda, called "Zick" by the local people. Hence the name of the lake. Due to its shallow depth, the Zicksee has a relatively high water temperature (spring and autumn around 15 °C, in summer mostly well over 20 °C). The Zicksee is a windsurfing area, there is a surfboard rental right on the lake. Due to its shallow depth, it is a standing area and well suited for beginners, water start students and speed surfers.
