The Four Castles Tour in Neckarsteinach takes you to Vorderburg, Mittelburg, Hinterburg, and Schadeck Castle ("Swallow's Nest") 🏰. The route offers magnificent views of the Neckar Valley 🌊, historic walls, and is ideal as a circular walk along the Neckarsteig Trail 🥾—compact, scenic, and steeped in history.

Along the Neckar River near Neckarsteinach, four castles lie exceptionally close to one another—a true gem for history and nature lovers. These four castles are wonderfully explored on a hike along the Neckarsteig Trail. From here, you have a particularly magnificent view of three of the four castles (the Swallow's Nest is not visible from here).

The castle complex has something to offer not only architecturally, but also botanically. This approx. 300-year-old, seven-meter-tall pine tree grows in the middle of the battlement, defying wind and weather on the barren ground. The real hallmark of the ruin!
