Always good for a break and a great starting point for numerous hikes and snowshoe tours.

Extremely well-organized hut operation, which, however, lacks the special charm of an alpine hut. After the rebuild everything was in tip top order and the hut operators were very charismatic.

Super alpine pasture with a great mountain backdrop. The hut owner Sabine always has an open ear for her guests and is happy to take the time to do so! Easily accessible from the Baad hiking car park via two paths (valley and high trail), also great for families with strollers. 🫶

Lindauer Hütte, HOSPITALITY SINCE 1899 1898: Hooray, a home in the Gauerthale 1899: Planning & construction 1899: Official purchase for 5 guilders 1899: The first innkeeper 1900: Extension, paths & water 1909: Construction of the (old) dormitory 2008: The historic main building gets an additional floor. 2016: In record time, the old dormitories are rebuilt and the staff house is renovated while the facility is still in operation. I stayed here when the cabin was on winter break. Good to know: there is a covered, wind-protected area in front of the entrance.

A beautiful snowshoe tour even without a summit. From here you can climb the Steinmandl, the Hählekopf, the Gerachsattel or the Ifen.
