Located in the heart of the Pyrmont Forest, the Sennhütte with its monument to Emperor Frederick III is a lovely, stylish place to stop for a bite to eat.

Admittedly, I haven't stopped here yet, but the rustic hut with the thick brickwork makes a cozy impression. Outside in the beer garden there are some wooden seating areas. A very neat place.

Schwedenschanze is a common popular name for old ramparts, the origin of which was not exactly known. The rampart next to the refuge is the actual Schwedenschanze and was probably only built around 1673.

We were able to enjoy coffee ☕️ and cake 🍰 during our visit! We had a nice stay and were able to warm up.

Nestled in the beautiful Pyrmont forest, the Sennhütte is located at 1100 feet above sea level. The Sennhütte can be easily reached by car if you drive along the border path. On foot, you can reach the destination via a well-signposted network of hiking trails. Mountain and e-bike riders have also discovered the Sennhütte and use the many forest paths to get there. In the beautiful summer months, life takes place in the lovingly landscaped outdoor area. Here, our guests have a beautiful beer garden and various small seating areas in the shade of the trees at their disposal. Very interesting design for a hiker's hut - but has the advantage that you can always sit dry on luv.
